Wednesday, November 27, 2019

RCMM has been associated with NGO Aaryasince last three years. This NGO "Aarya", is formed by SheetalBhatkar, in memory of her son. The vision of the NGO is to alleviate some of the worries of family members of patients, undergoing long treatment in hospitals around Parellike Wadia, Tata Hospital and KEM.
This initiative called "Don Ghas" in Marathi means a "square meal". It is very well thought out with a very simple process, and smooth execution. This was initiated with distribution of around 50 meal packets in a day. Today it has expanded and is able to provide meals for some 300 plus people daily with support from well-wishers and friends.
This year RCMM has supported for two days meals for 150 persons on both the days. First round was on 27thNovember, 2019 and next is planned on 6thDecember, 2019. RCMM received donation from Ganesh Shanbagthrough Rtn. Revatiand same has been used for distributing the meals.  RCMM members participated in distributing the meals and also understood the complete process. The food was of very good quality consisting of roti, subji, khichadiand banana. The patients admission card is checked and  then only food is served.
For all of us Rotarians, we felt this is a good platform to celebrate a small happy event in the family, by contributing for a day’s meal at “Don Ghas”.
