Health and Hygiene Project at Tata Hospital

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

In Tata Hospital annually more than 35,000 Female patients visit OPDs, 13000 female patients are admitted in Female Ward and equal number of female care givers of the patients visit hospital. These females are from all walks of life from Mumbai and outside. Huge Waste which is generated by them requires management of disposal. In spite of instruction for disposal of napkins / clothes they are thrown in toilets and on windows. Drainage system gets blocked and Health and Hygiene is on toss.

Request came from Nursing Superintendent to install incinerators and Sanitary Napkin Vending machines. RCMM took up the ‘Project Health and Hygiene’ and installed Incinerators and Sanitary Napkin Vending machines at Female Ward, OPD and Nurses Hostel.

On 17thOctober inauguration ceremony was organised. Good number of RCMM members attended the function. Special thanks to Rtns. Varshaand Sunitafor their financial help. Time will prove the success of project Health and Hygiene. We will take up more such installations in times to come.
