projectdate:

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

The COVID-19 outbreak affects all segments of the population and more so the weaker section of society. To keep safe from the Virus, there was no alternative but declare lock down. This has very badly impacted the daily wagers. Apart from scare of getting infected, they do not have enough food to sustain themselves. At RCMM we were approached by RKSS through Rtn. Pradnyafor supporting them in distribution of grocery to the needy. Ramakrishna SaradaSamiti(RKSS) has been working in PratikshaNagar Slums for 50+ years. Most of them are daily wage workers, taxi drivers, electricians, tailors, hawkers.  With current situation they are sleeping hungry as no money to buy essentials. RCMM supported RKSS by donating Rs. 10,000/- and in turn RKSS organized ration packets consisting rice, atta, dal, onions, tomato, oil, salt, sugar, turmeric and chilly powder and tea powder.  On 21st  April, 2020 RKSS distributed the grocery packets to 200 families residing in PratikshaNagar using RCMM donation and donations received from other kind donors.
