Infrastructure Facilities at Ekta Niradhar Sangh, Kamshet

Saturday, August 24, 2019

Its tough to be a orphan, worse still if you are above the age of 18 as  no government orphanage shelters you once you complete 18 years. It is for these category of persons does Institutions like Ekta Niradhar Sangh at Kamshet Lonavala cater to. It gives them full accommodation, food and facilities  to educate themselves and be able  to earn their livelihood. The institution is founded and run by Mr. Sagar Reddy (just 33 yrs of age) who himself is an orphan (from the age of 2) and through this grit, determination, and a will to survive got himself educated and landed a very good job at L & T. He gave up his comfortable life and decided to work for those who have no identity and no material means even to exist. The Institution run by him is  really remarkable and he has established 6 more orphanages, helped 1100 children and arranged marriages of 60 girl orphans.
As part of CSR initiative  ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions India donated 4 desktops, 2 laptops, a screen, a projector and other electronic accessories, 10 mattresses and pillows. This will make great difference to the lives of the orphans as they get exposure to the vast information available on the internet, apart from learning and using the computers. These skills will provide them better path in life instead of drifting to the path of crime and anti social activities. The inauguration  ceremony was held on 24th August, 2019 at the hands of TKIS MD Rtn. Prakash Samudra in the presence of other board members of the TKIS. People were in tears on hearing the speech of Sagar Reddy and how he transformed his hate of society to one of serving the society.
RCMM played a role in helping to outline the needs and provide coordinating services to the Project. Yet another example of a synergistic  collaboration between Rotary and a Corporate for meaningful deployment of CSR Funds for greater Community Cause.
