On Line Education - Distribution of Cellphones

projectdate:

Saturday, October 24, 2020

Since the second week of March, state governments across the country began shutting down schools and colleges temporarily as a measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. Till date there is no certainty when they will reopen. The structure of schooling and learning, including teaching and assessment methodologies, was the first to be affected by these closures.
Schools had to come up with alternatives to continue education. The pandemic has transformed the centuries-old, chalk–talk teaching model to one driven by technology. Schools are adopting teaching online through various e-learning solutions. But at the students end they need to have Smart Mobile Handset to take advantage of online learning.
There is a heavy demand by economically backward students to provide them with cellphones. At RCMM we have started with very humble beginning of providing 4 Mobile Handsets to Girl Students at R. V. NerkarSchool, Vasai, run by Dr.M.G. ParulekarMitramandal. Rtn. Kishore and PP VarshaParulekartook the initiative to personally hand over cell phones to needy students.
